plug in timer switches for lamps...

Does anyone else use these when they go away ? I am an anxious sort of person and worry about leaving things switched on when I'm out....any advice ? ta !

thanks sobernow - I worry about both things in equal measure !! Neighbour can come in, but won't every day, so think we'll use the timers (only on a couple of lamps).

I've used them on 2 lamps after being burgled 3 times in 8 months (long time ago) Never crossed my mind to be worried about fire. Maybe I should be?

If you are going to get timer switches, the electronic ones are much safer.

DP was advised by a senior fire investigator that the clockwork ones could jam and overheat therefore causing a fire.

you should be abnle to get the electronic timers from argos, dixons, currys or similar places
