I don't need a cleaner I need a tidy-er - does anyone do this sort of thing?

Cleaning is a doddle if it's tidy. I need someone to come and understand the minutae of my life and do a perfect housewife on me. No time to get organised. Do people offer this service?

My cleaner tidies. I was thinking of hiring a life laundry person before we got her (previous cleaner didn't really tidy) but now it all seems more manageable. She doesn't have the time to transform my pit into a show home in one session, but she is making gradual headway and I feel optimistic that we will get there.

I just have a thing against women who buy and pick their mne's clothes. It has a sort of controlling feel about it but I know loads of men are more than happy to leave it to women to trail round the shops buying stuff.

Cappuccino · 22/05/2007 13:25

she wasn't picking them she was chucking them out

that sounds like clearing wardrobe space rather than mothering someone to me

Anna8888 · 22/05/2007 13:39

If you read my post you will see that I didn't shop for his clothes before the throw out, he went with friends... he needed some new ideas and input. Xenia, you are so ready to leap to conclusions about stereotypes...

Judy1234 · 22/05/2007 13:55

Okay, sorry, misread it.

LoveAngel · 22/05/2007 13:56

Xenia doesn't like (let me see, um....) women, men...or women who like men or...ummmm...anybody, really.

Don't take it personally.

Anna8888 · 22/05/2007 14:00

loveangel - Xenia just loves pigeonholing people...

Judy1234 · 22/05/2007 14:00

I like some people. People are fascinating. They are so different. People watching and even just today I had a meeting and working out the dynamics of those people and their reaction to each other is so interesting; trying to work out what they want and giving it to them.

LoveAngel · 22/05/2007 14:01

lol@Xenia. That's funny.

mozhe · 22/05/2007 14:24

Xenia if you ever want a job...come and work in my team !

LoveAngel · 22/05/2007 14:56

Can you imagine?

BRIGHT YOUNG WORKER: "Mrs Mozhe... I've got something to tell you....I'm pregnant."

"What? Miss Xenia, have you heard this? Another one of those bright young graduates is up the duff again! What a waste of a good Masters, tut tut...And are you planning on coming back as soon as your 3 months is up, young lady?"

BRIGHT YOUNG WORKER: "Well, actually, I was hoping we could discuss flexible worki.."

"Flexible what? FLEXIBLE WORKING???? Was that what you wrre going to say, you impertinent little wretch? Miss Xenia and I have 26 kids between us and we manage a 12 hour day without (coughs up a hairball) flex-ih-ball work (cough) ing. (shudders). What's the matter with you, girl? Call yourself na rampant feminist?"

...and so on

mozhe · 22/05/2007 18:32

Funny.....

Judy1234 · 22/05/2007 19:30

I might just suggest they try spending some continuous 12 hour days and broken nights with a real live baby before they decided it was some kind of wonderful existence to be a stay at home mother.

Judy1234 · 22/05/2007 19:31

In fact what I do do is if men announce their wife is expecting I ask who will stay home to look after it and how did they reach that decision and are they happy she gets the choice.

tuppy · 22/05/2007 20:09

Here we go again...what happened to tidying ?

Homebird8 · 22/05/2007 22:16

tuppy, my point exactly!
