photo albums - where can I get plain one?

I'm finally confronting my mound of photos and want to get them into photo albums before the task becomes even more scary than it already is! Can anyone recommend where I can buy some photo albums, the ones where you can put them behind a plastic film would be best as we always go for the bigger size photos that don't fit in the standard photo albums. I'm not really into 'Winnie the Pooh' or similiar theme and would really like something black/neutral, ie plain, if I could buy online that would be even better! Anyone got any ideas? ta.

Janus, I get my big ones from WHSmith, not sure if they do them online, mine are dark red, you can get black too I think.

WHSmiths sell them but they are v expensive. Your best bet is probably a camera shop, we use www.jessops.co.uk (shop on line or there are branches all around the UK). These are quality and rather expensive albums, if you want something cheaper you might find one of those with the sticky pages in a cheapy shop like Pounstretcher or similar.

Also had some nice ones from Tesco

The larger Boots also do plain black ones.

Woolies sell lovely big albums with plastic covered pages and plain blue or burgundy covers about £5. You have to keep an eye out as they don't stock them all the time.

For a bit more cash try Paperchase - they do large and small plain ones in great colours.

you could try max spielman or click.

Janus, Muji have a great album that is just bound plastic sleeves. However they only fit 4"x6" photos (standard large size). You can put 120 photos in one album and it cost £3 or £4. They are very childproof. I put all my photos in them and they are frequently handled without parental supervision by my son (19 mo.) and my stepkids (8,9,13) and look no worse for the wear. One even survived a visit in the sink.
I think Muji also do a variety of larger sleeves that can then be included in a diy album.
Only catch is I don't know whether there are Muji stores outside of London...but I think they do mailorder.

There'a Muji store in Leeds, so I guess they must have them in other cities too!

Thanks everyone. Went to Paperchase today and fell in love with their photo albums until I saw they were £25 each, so I decided to just check Woolies out across the road. They have a sale on and theirs are £3.99 each, 50 leaves. Went completely mad and bought 5 which still cost less than the one in Paperchase. BUT got it home to find that my photos are about 3mm too big to fit so spent a happy hour cutting off 3mm from each photo to fit it in the bloody thing!! Sometimes I think you do get what you pay for. Am very tempted to take the other 4 back and just get the much bigger one from Paperchase as can't face cutting up the rest of my big pile of photos. Do you think Woolies will refund if I bought it in the sale?? I live in London so may try Muji too before commit to the £25! (It is lovely though ....!)

Janus, when you say sale do you mean they have a sticker on showing £7.99 reduced to £3.99 or something? Because they almost always say that! I think as long as you have your receipt they will give you a refund.

I use Woolies' enormous flip albums which hold 200 prints, I always get 4x6 pictures specifically to fit in them, and they are easier to fit in enevelopes to send in letters too. (Also cheaper...)
