how can i be sure its gone, stupid housing people cant afford to get it properly dealt with and just paint over it, my childs asthma still really bad so think mould is still there releasing spores that affect her,

They did use special paint, does that mean the mould is sealed in so cant affect her.

I bought some stuff by polycell to actually kill and remove mould but it says if mould is growing through paint you have to strip paint first and i wouldnt know where to start and baby is due soon and i have two demanding children to look after and no one to help.

I want mould sorted out before baby is born so it doesnt affect new babys health. was mean to be oving house before new baby born but doesnt look like i will be now

If you're really desperate and can't have it sorted professionally, a good, easy way, providing it's not too bad/too much of it is to get near bleach on a cloth and wipe it all off til you can see now more and then buy a tin of stuff from Homebase or somewhere like that that goes on like white paint but has the anti-mould/anti- damp stuff in.

It's very good and does work.

I meant to type neat bleach.

we have same problem.we rent privatley but landlady wont do anything.she says house just needs airingwe have no heating either so think this doesnt help.the bleach thing works but its not a one off job.

no jobekal, just get the neat bleach on it to clean off as much as you can.

Once you've done the bleach and the special paint thingy, try to keep a window open most of the time - even if it's just a few inches and even when you have the heating on.

Yes, having windows open a crack all the time (unless blowing a gale) really does help. Last year our bedroom wall was wringing wet and stuff in our wardrobe was going mouldy too but this year it has been fine. We had some mould killer stuff from Homebase but it smelt of bleach so was probably bleach based anyway. We were also advised to try and keep the corners of the rooms clear to allow air to circulate as apparently condensation can build up there. Easier said than done in our very small room but we've managed to move the furniture about a bit so that most of the big items are not against the outside wall.
