Disclosure for charity committees (Scotland)

Can someone help me. I am on the committee of a Parent and Toddler group in Scotland. We are a registered charity from way back in the past but obviously the laws on running a charity have tightened up a lot over the last few years.
We are just a wee group of mums looking for a coffee, chat and play once a week.
Can someone tell me if we are registered with the scottish charities commission does our committee have to have disclosure.
No one can seem to give me a straight answer but mumsnet has always served me well in the past!!

Thanks

Yes, I think you will. I used to work for a charity, and the staff had full disclosures. However, about a year ago, the trustees / management committee also had to have them. The real issue is who on you committee will be the signatory. It involves a day's training in Stirling, and the signatory also has to have an enhanced disclosure, which will need to be done through a third party. If you're volunteers, there will be no cost to getting disclosures done. The other alternative is to de-register with OSCR. Good luck. Phone CRBS in Stirling. They deal with disclosure applications from charities. If you don't have the number I'll look it out for you. They're very helpful.

Thanks very much. We would like to de-register but as far as we understand we would then have to give up our assets and start again from scratch.

All seems terribly complicated for a group of parents, its hard enough getting people to come onto the committee without getting them to go for training/fill in forms!
