Not sure if I'm in the right section to ask this but I would appreciate some feedback. Would you consider having afternoon tea delivered to you home?

What would be special or different about it?

Callamia · 01/04/2018 20:59

Would I have to use my own crockery and wash-up? Because no thanks - I want chintzy plates and beautiful tea pots, that’s half the joy.

Um, no. Not really.

If it was the experience with plates, china, teapots etc maybe. Not just the stuff in a box, if you know what I mean.

littlepill · 01/04/2018 21:00

Probably not... I rather like to whip up a batch of scones and have crockery. Unless it is for a big group, in which case I’d expect to be able to leave the dirty plates for collection after. But would prefer a catered buffet lunch!

Teacuphiccup · 01/04/2018 21:00

I’ve had it in the past when I’ve been hosting and I couldn’t be arsed. It was vegan though otherwise I’d have just bought it from marksies

No. That said I wouldn't order plates of sandwiches for parties either, but there is a market for those, so some people might.

So cake and butties?

What about the actual tea?

unintentionalthreadkiller · 01/04/2018 21:03

No

Maybe for a biggish group. Several times I have been and bought pretty much everything for afternoon tea for numbers from 6 to 10 from my local bakery so all I had to do is put it on my cake stand and put clotted cream and jam on the table (so I bought scones, sandwiches, which they made freshly for me, and a selection of cakes). Made hosting super easy. So I might consider a delivered version of that if it was for bigger numbers I guess or if it offered something my bakery couldn’t (but am picky about sarnies and my local bakery’s are yummy and would be a hard act to follow!)
