another thread about moving to paris i'm afriad, but wondered if anyone would know this or have suggestions...

we've got alot of electrical equipment ie breadmaker, tv, video player, dvd player, computer, steros & radio which of course runs on the UK voltage, not french.

do you think its fleasible and not dangerous for us to take them to france with us but have loads of adaptors?? i don't want to burn down our apartment but at the same time, i don't want to buy the stuff again ???

any suggestions/ideas would be great.

Many thanks

Hi,
The voltage in France is 220 Volts. In the UK we use 240 Volts. Many electrial devices are marked 220/240 volts or 230 volts so they can be sold and USED in both.
If you are moving to France do not use adapters, but change to French plugs.
All your devices should be fine.

Dont think you will need the breadmaker tho!

I don't think the tv will work here (although I may be wrong) + if the video doesn't work on both systems you'll only be able to play tapes you got in the UK (but it'll work). No need for the bread maker! Everything else will be fine.
