Today I am mostly envying those who are childless...

I bloody well want to lie in
be spontaneous
not break up fights
read the paper from cover to cover
have sex in the middle of the day or morning
have a varied and interesting social life
not constantly hear 'he called me smelly' or 'muuuuuuum, where's the xyz?'

I want everyone to just fk off and leave me ALONE actually. I am fantasising about being alone somewhere like this but with a stiff breeze and having a bed like this .

Thanks for listening. I do love them and I don't mostly want to be childless but today I do.

Please feel free to post YOUR fantasy locations and wants below.

She's three. I quite like five year olds, going by what DD1 was like. And was just preening myself that DD2 was turning four in June, and being a total sweetie, when the stomping started. The whole house shakes. I'm not joking.

MotherSuperior · 28/04/2007 16:57

Right, I have just booked 2 nights in a suite at The Forbury It's Reading but not as we know it apparently.

And I am drinking expensive red wine and dh is cooking rare roast beef so things are looking up

Three is just the worst age isn't it MI. Dd is just coming out the other side of the sheer hell that being three can be - in her case she has terrible mood swings, generally lovely, but then a demon takes her and she is on the floor screaming! But this hasn't happened (touch wood) for a few weeks now...

tortoiseSHELL · 28/04/2007 16:59

ooh, that looks lovely! Am very jealous!!!

MotherSuperior · 28/04/2007 16:59

I wailed at the reservations man that I needed romance and he said 'we'll do our absolute best m'am' (to rhyme with ham like one is is supposed to use with The Queen) so I like it already.

Iota, May, they have an offer on, buy one night, get second half price so we are getting a suite for £225/night. And petals on the bed apparently.

Sallys, what a PITA about the bike, sympathy.

Earlybird, do you feel sneaking admiration for your dd's blu tack plan?!

MotherSuperior - yes, I think she and her pals deserve alot of credit for imagination. But I also suspect there's heavy influence from 'The Far Away Tree', which is what we're reading for bedtime at the moment. We've spoken a bit about how those children are forever sneaking out at night and having adventures without their Mum suspecting anything!

Smurfgirl · 28/04/2007 18:43

Tis v.good.

Today I booked a holiday - with my mate - with 3 weeks notice - dead easy
Spent £30 on small clothes that are deeply impractical
Had sex twice. In the living room
I got up at 10am and thought 'ooh its early'

Now am watching TV (of my choice) drinking wine.

I was thinking today actually how glad I was that I was childless at the moment.

MotherSuperior · 28/04/2007 18:44

Smurfgirl - are you childless then? But you've been here Ages haven't you? We told you your dh to be fancied you etc iirc. (tis www here)

SwiperNoSwiping · 28/04/2007 18:45

Blimey wish i was childless, the chance would be a fine thing

Smurfgirl · 28/04/2007 18:46

Did you not know I have no kids www?

Noooooooooooo.

I am enjoying being 22 and free at the moment (aside from delightful fiance obv)

Oh and I spent the morning watching a 15 rated film.

And chose my holiday based on somewhere NOT popular with families yay! One review said 'the pool was spoiled for my children by drunken youths and loud music' which swung it for me.

Smurfgirl · 28/04/2007 18:47

Oh www - found MN when I thought I was pregnant one time, and have sort of stuck around since

MotherSuperior · 28/04/2007 19:12

Oh right, no, I didn't know, I sort of assumed you did. lol re the holiday. Well, we do all envy you sometimes you know. Make the most of it all won't you?

Smurfgirl · 28/04/2007 19:14

I do www.

(i do try never ever to post about parenting or children for fear of being judged )

tribpot · 28/04/2007 19:17

Am deeply envying my childfree friends, who have been fabulous today and spent the morning/early avo helping me move stuff to the new house. They give up a few hours of a weekend in return for extravagant praise and bottles of wine, whereas I get to be 'on duty' for the whole of eternity, if not for ds, for dh - who is chronically ill.

In fairness my MIL is doing sterling work cleaning/sorting the new house and I do feel genuinely lucky to have so many people willing to help out. But one of my friends was a bit like "oh. I'll have to miss Saturday morning yoga to come and help you". Saturday. Morning. Yoga. Only for the childfree.

pickledpear · 28/04/2007 19:18

i would like a MAN..... i dont get a cuddle from another adult at all you can at least all have that in the day

MrsWho · 29/04/2007 12:00

prettymum · 29/04/2007 12:21
