A colleague passed this on to me. She knows the family concerned.

If you have a minute, please sign the following petition:

Maternal death petition We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Acknowledge that Child Bed Fever is not a disease of the past, that it still kills mothers unnecessarily and to take positive action now to stop it

Jessica's trust - More information .

Thanks.

Signed and bump.

I have seen Ben Palmer interviewed recently - such a devastating thing to happen

Mrsshuvel · 19/04/2007 16:46

Signed. How awful. I had never heard of this!

suedonim · 19/04/2007 17:11

Signed. I also had a womb infection after ds1. Luckily it was relatively minor and was spotted at the FP clinic and treated with a/b's. All the way through the DM article 'continuity of care' was screaming at me from the page and then I saw that Ben had identified it as cause of his wife's death. It seems to me that so many of the NHS's problems are caused by a lack of old-fashioned, low-tech commuication.

Bump

Bump. I had this and was treated well and in good time, but only because my dad (a medic) told me to get to A&E pronto when I told him my temperature (104.9 F). My GP, the midwife and NHS direct all said it was a temperature due to my milk coming in.
