Am completely uselss at DIY but need to fit glass into DD's playhouse windows.
I know where to get the glass cut (good start) but other than thinking I will need some putty-haven't got a clue.

Can anyone talk me through it?

Any major do's and don'ts?

WOuoldn't it be better to get some perspex? (sp?) I had glass when I was little, and it shattered one day as it's usually very thin.

I would have said don't use glass for a start! Polycarbonate sheeting would be safer.

Use perspex. Glue in with strong glue. Cut some wooden beading to put round to finish it off nicely.

It did used to have double layer polycarb in it when the wallaby used it (for insulation) but now it is dd's I thought she would like to see out.
Hadn't thought of perspex-any ide where I could get some-Homebase?

use perspex!we have perspex and although it got smashed at weekend(party!)i didnt shattered as glass would.

When fitting it, screw a small strap of wood round the frame to get it to lean against. Put the perspex in, the screw another strap round the outside of the frame. This should hold the perspex in place.

We've got a similar project in the offing (wooden playhouse in need of complete renovation , roof , windows, staining etc)and already have some perspex sheets from Homebase which were left over from our old shed. You can get it in different thickness some of which can be cut with scissors or a stanley knife. We also used some beading to secure the edges and leave them smooth.

Sounds like I need a trip to Homebase-am not sufficiently "tooled up" to do anything other than the simplest stuff so will give it a go-thank you all for your advice.
