This is the one causing the difficulty-mothercare tandem hoxton

It is so bloody heavy, aaargh

am also selling a micralite and a volo and various backpacks/slings but they are not a problem, micralite will do

want to avoid dodgy ebay couriers but the big firms like citilink want me to have an account first? aaargh.

ive always used payperdrop for pushchairs after it was recommended on here.how much are you looking for microlite?

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 15:27

ah that is my NEXT step

ebay average I guess

payperdrop I am worried about cos they will only attempt delivery once, that doesn't seem fair really

OP posts:
misdee · 15/04/2007 15:27

payp[erdrop are the cheapest, but not 100% reliable and you do have to wait in all day.

misdee · 15/04/2007 15:28

if someone is out when courier delivers then it goes to depot, you could let your buyer know what day the parcel is coming

misdee · 15/04/2007 15:28

psst what volo is it?

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 15:33

see i prob wouldn't be able to wait in on random day, so I would actually not bid if someone was using payperdrop

i am also uncertain re the legalities of it. I suppose if I SAID I was using payperdrop-fine. I would be mighty peed off if I bid and then was told I was expected to wait in all day and if I didn't, my parcel would be RTS'd.

misdee-dunno. standard maclaren one. About oooh-3 years old. red.

OP posts:
misdee · 15/04/2007 15:38

it doesnt get returned to sender, it goes to depot. i had to drive 12miles to depot the other day to get a parcel, then they told it it had gone back out for delivery and just caught it in time

so the thing about only delivery once doesnt hold true

misdee · 15/04/2007 15:38

ok, parcel force website, its £18.95 for 24hour delivery, and they will try and deliver again. think cheapest is £14.95

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 15:47

really? with payperdrop?

so they have a depot? thats a lot better

how strict are they on their height/weight limits? cos i am easily going to go over that with a double pushchair

OP posts:
sarahlou1uk · 15/04/2007 15:53

If you want more than one delivery option - try parcels2go.co.uk.

I've used these 3 times now and had good results. They will take upto 30kgs in weight as will most couriers. If your pram weighs more than this, you will have a problem finding a courier!

sarahlou1uk · 15/04/2007 15:54

Sorry, forgot to say, they use mainly DHL

kittypants · 15/04/2007 15:55

i think payperdrop is up to 34 or 35kg and youre hoxton is only 14,no more tham a normal pushchair.

misdee · 15/04/2007 15:57

payperdrop uses DHL

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 16:23

oooh you lot are fabulous

thanks

I am having great difficulty accepting that i do actually need to do this, i CAN'T have more kids really so...I must do this and get money for a bike so I can actually get to and from ds's nursery but

CHRIST its hard.

now i don't have the courier excuse

kittypants · 15/04/2007 16:26

fj,i have same thing.im selling my lots baby stuff but find it hard excepting i cant have more.but then i think i can spoil my lo's with the money i make!if you think of price for microlite let me know or if you ebay it.

misdee · 15/04/2007 16:27

if the volos in ok condition, may be interested. stupidly sold mine. d'oh!

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 16:37

micralite is navy, and comes with a raincover (never used-case not even opened) and a protect a bub shade, which is pretty much the only shade that really works on the micralite. I also have a matching footmuff SOMEWHERE that, tbh, I'd happily send on to whoever bought it when I do find it as it only fits the micralite and wouldn't be much good to me! Was looking for about £85 plus postage.

volo is red. I think its in decent condition, would need to double check it had all bits as hasn't been opened up in a good year or two. Was looking for around £20 plus postage.

my main (ffs ) pushchair is a phil and teds, these are pushchairs for car boot (volo) / grandparents (micralite) so are pretty lightly used.

oh am feeling all wobbly, need to go and snivel for a bit now.

Oh, definitely not CityLink (AKA ShittyLink). They specialise in breaking mugs and not turning up.

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 16:45

wow really?

ok am fired up for ebay now.

ok

inspire me please

TooTicky · 15/04/2007 16:46

Look, Filly, I have a bike you could buy in instalments if it's the sort you're after, that is. It's a small mountain bike and has a child seat. Both used only about twice as I have lost my confidence and my legs are too bloomin' short.

misdee · 15/04/2007 16:46

Do it, think of the bike you can get.

Micralite sell well, not sure on how much you will get for the hoxton though.

have you tried listring them on here first?

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 16:49

i need a wimmins bike tick

i am ok about spending a bit of money, well i'm NOT but-I do a fair bit of cycling so it will be worth it.

but i am going to have ds on the back on a trailgator and dd on the front on a handlebar seat so I have resigned myslef to spending money.

OP posts:
TooTicky · 15/04/2007 16:52

It is wimmins but def not top of the range.

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2007 17:02

am not so keen on top of the range

i do need to get something that fits me well though

i have been faffing around on a crappy halfords £120 mens (mins?) bike for the past 5 years, and it is getting too much, i can't see how I could actually be safe with 2 as I can't really balance that well-it is too big for me and I can't hold it steady at the lights and so on.
