The frogs are moving to a new pond: I have loads of Mini-Boden gear on ebay, and some other stuff going free...

Major clearout time in the frog pond.

I have loads of stuff on ebay here , and a few other things that I'd be happy to pass on to anyone who wants to come and take them (North London -- regular MNers only, please)!

One cheapy Radio/cassette/CD player. The CD player works intermittently, the rest works fine according to dd1;

One rather fancy Habitat star lampshade that never really fitted our light fittings;

Pair of red Verbaudet desert-style kids boots, size 32 practically unworn but minus laces for some reason;

A wooden slatted bathmat in good condition;

A wooden toddler trolley, the kind with red wheels and a blue handle.

It is also likely that we will have some building materials going spare -- cans of paint and stuff like that, but not sure what until I've plumbed the outer reaches of the loft.

Can't face the hassle of freecycle, so if anyone would be grateful for any of the above and willing to pick it up sooner rather than later, please post. Regular MNers only please.

Oh, why did I look? I just know your funky boho bundle will go beyond my price range

frogs · 06/04/2007 20:13

Do you think so? I've never put a bundle on before, and it's all slightly out of season stuff. And out of step with the usual pink-o-rama of girls' bundles, so I was worried everyone would be sniffy about it.

TooTicky · 06/04/2007 20:15

But it's worth buying in advance, out of season to avoid the dreadful pale pink sameyness that is ebay.

misdee · 06/04/2007 20:17

ooo if dd3 was a bit bigger i;d be bidding on the boho bundle. but she is sloooow growing so dont thin kshe will fit by the winter.

hippipotami · 06/04/2007 20:27

oooh, I have put two items on 'watch', but knowing how boden stuff sells on eBay it may just shoot out of my price range.

Fingers crossed!

bossykate · 06/04/2007 20:39

hello

am interested in all girls 3-4 and 5-6 stuff - should i just bid on ebay?

sorry to be a pain - do you have a pic of your habitat lampshade please?

hope i fit the description of regular mnetter - am certainly a long-standing one!

frogs · 06/04/2007 20:49

bk -- most of the girl's stuff isn't the ages you mention, but if there's anything you like do bid on ebay!

wrt the lampshade, I don't have any pics to hand, but could take one and email it to you if you CAT me your email address. I bought it as a panic buy in Habitat about 6 months ago when we put the house on the market without checking if it was suitable (dur). It's white paper (more robust than it sounds) but only fits quite a low-wattage bulb and made our hall too gloomy. New house is a bit of a wreck and I'm blowed if I'm holding onto the shade for 6 years until I find a use for it.

OP posts:
bossykate · 06/04/2007 21:45

yes, i homed in on the younger girls stuff! ah low wattage - bain of my life atm as we have been trying to be green and buy low energy bulbs - can hardly see our hands in front of our faces now! so will probably have to give the lampshade a miss. where are you moving to? i detected some references to bonkers wandsworth parents recently - if so you won't be too far away from us. good luck with your move!

frogs · 06/04/2007 22:04

Oooh no, not sarf of the river!

Still norf london, just a bit norfer than our current house. Easier journey to school for dd1 and a nicer house (or will be one day, once we've got rid of the woodchip and installed a proper bathroom).

OP posts:
bossykate · 06/04/2007 22:13

lol! so how come you can't avoid those bonkers wworth parents??? run like the wind, because the clapham parents really are like "may contain nuts" - one wonders how john farrell faced his neighbours after that was published!

have to say i thought yr dd must be at St M's in Barnet...

Hope she is happy and thriving at wherever she is and good luck to you all in your move.

best wishes
bkxxx

frogs · 06/04/2007 22:16

She is at St M's in Barnet, all in purple! We're moving to N19, which is an easier bus journey for her, but lots of other factors as well.

I have friends who live in Wandworth, round Honeywell which does seem to attract a certain type! We're so much more down to earth here in 'Ackney...

CAT me if you're interested in the lampshade -- it really is too good for Oxfam.

OP posts:
MarsLady · 06/04/2007 22:24

So if you're in N19 then you're not too far from me are you froggie?

So... let me know when you're in and I'll pop round with some LDC to warm the house!

(Also, if you find more funky boho stuff 2-3 knocking about, just give me a shout. DT1 you understand... she's a real funky boho!)

bossykate · 06/04/2007 22:26

honeywell yup prime john o'farell territory the irony is - honeywell does much less well that other local schools in lambeth... in fact ds's school leaves it in the dust frankly...

dd will love st m's if i have understood yr posts correctly over the years!

all the best to you and the family, hope it all goes well.

bkxxx

frogs · 06/04/2007 23:08

Mars, will def. let you know when we move, so you can give me the lowdown on the local highlights. Loads of dd1's friends live in Crouch End, so her social life centres round the 134 or whatever that bus is called!

And yes, bk, she's blissfully happy at StM's -- she's gone from being the stroppy argumentative one to little miss goody-twoshoes despite the unflattering uniform and the draconian earring regulations. Slightly uncanny (I have to keep pinching myself) by very cheering.

What age is your DT2, Mars? Most of dd2's outgrown gear has in the past gone to hoxtonchick's dd, but she apparently now has two chest of drawers full of clothes all to herself, so clearly not short of things to wear. I know the ebay title was a bit naff, but I had to find a way to say "Not the standard nonky ebay girl's bundle" in 25 characters or less!

OP posts:
MarsLady · 07/04/2007 11:11

Hey Frogs DT1 is 3 but she's a diddy wee thing so just about in 2-3 clothes and occasionally daring to wear something that is aged 3 lol!

Give me a holler when you're near.

I think that your DD's uniform is slightly more bleurgh than my DD's but I think they share the same draconian earring rules lol! (Though were you to buy their gold studs... lol )

frogs · 07/04/2007 11:16

Not as bad as LSU, though -- at least they don't have to wear white knee socks [double bleugh].

Yes, the earring regulations state something like 'plain gold or silver studs, one in the lobe of each ear, no more than x mm in diameter". Dd1 went in with the studs she'd had her ears pierced with, innocuous gold studs, but with a tiny blue stone in the middle. Not okay, as it turned out. Grrr. I think they lighten up as girls go up the school, they just like to come down hard on the new Y7 to get them into the swing of things!

OP posts:
MarsLady · 07/04/2007 11:17

Ours have to have the school logo engraved on them! Thank goodness it hasn't occurred to DD1 to ask to have her ears pierced lol! I'm still waiting for her to ask.

frogs · 10/04/2007 14:34

Does nobody want my lovely Habitat star lampshade? I nearly took it to Oxfam today, then thought I'd offer it here just one more time.

Most of the other stuff has gone to Oxfam now, and most of the auctions finished at the weekend, but I still have a few nice things on ebay .
