One fo my friends is the mother fo a 3 year old and her xDP was violent and threw both fo them out - she has been working and trying her best since DS was born, living with her father and working and putting DS in nursery and doing a great job all round.

Her xDOP has got married and has told the CSA that him and his new wife only earn 19k between them a year when the reality is that he is director of a huge company that rakes in 100ks a year - she has got his records from Compny house to take to the CSA to prove that he is lying and has now found out that he has secured a contarct worth mega bucks.

DO you think the CSA will try and sort this out and deal with his lies and who else can she get in contact with to bring this to the attention of someone with clout.

I really want to help her as she has been the bestest friend one could wish for thought all of my troubles so any help would be much appreciated.

Ta Girls.

They will only sort it out if she gets on the phone to them every other day. What she needs is to know the name of her case worker and to establish a friendly and positive relationship with him or her, with frequent phone calls from her to find out how her case is progressing. Otherwise, in my experience, they simply won't bother.

Not sure exactly how it works if he is self employed but I was concerned that my xp was lying and also not admitting his bonus, but the caseworker said that initially they had done the earnings assessment based upon records produced by his employer. The caseworker would not confirm whether or not bonus was included but when I said that I wanted to make sure that earnings increases were included over future years, he said that they can do reviews of the earnings assessment, but not normally more than one a year. If you don't ask them to review the award, I don't think they do it for several years. I think she needs to hassle the caseworker to tell her what sort of records they have got to prove his earnings, and insist that they base the earnings assessment upon his income tax records. Unfortunately, he may be receiving a salary as a director which does not reflect the company profits, and he may be getting benefits other than cash, eg shares/ share options / use of things which are owned by the company not him (strictly speaking these perks should be taxable and so if he is declaring his tax properly, his tax record is the right way to assess his income). MeanBean's advice sounds absolutely right to me; everything started to happen once I had a named man dealing with it in Maintenance and Compliance section, and I decided that (in order to get on with the rest of my life) I would just ask for a reassessment once a year, even though a friend who works at xp's firm tells me the figures are wrong and he has set up the earnings assessment date to be just before annual payrise and bonus awards.
