i love the way people are so apologetic when I ask if they have consesions for disabled. and they say oh no the carer goes free.......this always saves more.

Skribble · 06/04/2007 22:58

I always try and get the best deal for everyone including disabled, huge families and pensioners, (well if they are nice to me ).

misdee · 06/04/2007 23:00

carer goes free at whipsnade. dont know if thats any help to anyone.

2shoesonanegghunt · 06/04/2007 23:02

amd howletts and drusilas

At brostol Zoo, DS1 and I both got a discount- and when she realised the cashier very hel;pfully went through all possible permutations of carers / family / student etc she could to work out the lowest fee she could.

But Drusillas is a bit of a con I find. If four of us go, and I get ds and myself in as 'long-term disabled' and 'carer' (as it says on the price list), then I pay individually for dh and dd, we save a grand total of 40p on a 'family of four' ticket! Hardly worth all the hassle of explaining to the ticket lady.

2shoesonanegghunt · 07/04/2007 22:49

pixel when are we going to meet?

Pixel · 07/04/2007 22:59

2shoes, are you asking me out?

I don't know, we should be able to sort something out shouldn't we (in our busy schedules ). Do you mean with dcs or without? We could meet somewhere for a coffee while they are at school.

Frascati · 07/04/2007 23:01

I have an ICount card for my dd. You get it if your child is on the disability register and most places take it. Saves all the hassle.

2shoesonanegghunt · 07/04/2007 23:51

oh pixel no dc's just us
mine are 11 and 15 so a nightmare

Pixel · 08/04/2007 00:24

We'll wait until after easter hols then shall we? You'll recognise me,I'll be the one who looks like an easter egg (not that I like them or anything ).

Pixel · 08/04/2007 00:27

Frascati, what's and Icount card? I've just had a quick google and didn't see anything. Is it a nationwide thing or local to you? We have a local one called a compass card which lets us have free swimming and cheap cinema tickets, just wondered if it was similar to that.

lou33 · 08/04/2007 00:50

never heard of ICount

2shoesonanegghunt · 08/04/2007 09:33

pixel come tohere the next meet up pretty please

Frascati · 08/04/2007 10:03

Pixel ~ I think the name varies depending on where you live.
Info here

Pixel · 09/04/2007 00:21

Thanks Frascati, looks like I live in the wrong area for that then. As I say we have the compass card but I don't think it is widely recognised. I only use it for swimming where it gets 5 of us in for free, friends or family which is really useful, also for Odeon SN cinema club but I don't know of anywhere else I can use it. It's due to be renewed in september, perhaps I will remember to ask then!

2Shoes, thanks but not sure if I'm brave enough for proper group meet-up. I've been on one before and felt like a bit of a twit because I didn't know what to say and had to leave early anyway .

2shoes · 09/04/2007 09:30

oh please come. i AM STILL NEW TO THEM BUT EVERYONE IS REALLY FRIENDLY

mamazon · 10/04/2007 00:39

ooh Pixel yeah come to the meet up.

im a newbie'ish too and they are all lovely i promise...im a complete whimp so you can hide in front of me.

2shoes · 10/04/2007 13:41

we can meet you before so you don't have to walk in alone(mazon and I always do that as we are cowards)

Pixel · 11/04/2007 01:08

Weeell...thinking about it . Isn't the 29th a Sunday though? Might be a bit awkward.

2shoes · 11/04/2007 09:46
