Ds1 is just 6. Obsessed with football.

This week my brothers took him to Old Trafford to see the youth team play in the semi final. He LOVED it - totally buzzing.

Now they want to take him to the final but it's kick off 7.30 and it's a Thursday night in term time.

What would you say?

Grin

Oooh, looks like a yes then.

He will cope OK with being tired - he doesn't get all cross and whiney when tired.

Oh my brothers will be pleased.

ROFL @ sherlock!!

JustUsTwo - your second concern is also one of mine. However, it's a youth team playing so not the Man Utd . I'm assuming that the crowd will be a bit 'tamer' than a one for a premiership match!

YES let him go. He will have a whole new vocabulary to impress his teachers with the next day though - you do realise this?

paulaplumpbottom · 06/04/2007 20:55

say yes, its ok every once in a while

deaconblue · 06/04/2007 21:24

yes, if it's a one off

fireflyfairy2 · 06/04/2007 21:26

I'd say yes

It's great for him to have a relationship & an interest in common with his uncles!!

When my DH was a boy, his uncle took him to see Liverpool play a few times, & now as a man of 30+ he still counts those as the best times ever!!!

ScoobyDooooo · 06/04/2007 21:33

I would say yes, it's a one off & as you say he can recover over the weekend.

hope he enjoys himself

I took DS last Saturday to watch the mighty Huddersfield Town take on the equally impressive Port Vale because we got v. cheap tickets through school and we were in the family stand and really it was quite tame. DS (who has been taken to see non-leauge by my parents) was about the worst shouting things like "get up you diving cheat" and "refereeeeee" etc.

GDG he does sound really like DS. In fact DD (who is only 2) kicked the ball off the lawn onto the patio and said "I got a yellow card". I was quite amused because she is a very girly girl into all things pink, lilac and princessy, but DS was more scornful "no you haven't, it's a thrown in".

Ha ha Bozza!!

I put this on another thread, but last night I went in to kiss the boys good night as I was going to bed. They were asleep of course.

Ds1 was in his Man U PJs but was also cuddling a football and had his new Man U scarf wrapped round and round his neck!! Ha ha!
