since i got pregnant with ds2 (now 7 days) i have been promising myself that i would take him to a CO as i had had amazing reports from other people. my darling ds2 is dreamy but already showing signs of being a windy feeder and i would like to try and alleviate discomfort for him asap if possible. i seem to remember there being an actual centre for CO in children in London where you pay as much as you can afford sort of thing?? not that i mind paying out the going rate, but Ican't remember details. failing that- anyone recommend one in sw london? (i'm SW17)
to anyone reading this wondering why i haven't posted more on any other threads- i have a perianal haematoma and am mostly bed bound at the moment... thanks to anyone that can help (with either!!)

Hi, Madgirl, and congratulations. Sorry you are bed-bound. What is that perianal.... Sounds awful.

I took dd to a cranial osteopath in Battersea. Will look up the address at home and e-mail you if you like - it wasn't reduced though. Probably not much help - sorry.

Did you have your ds2 in St George's?
Take care and get well soon, Dinny

madgirl · 17/07/2004 17:38

thanks for that dinny.
yes i had him at george's, and a peri wotsit is a large clot on the outside of the anus. it is horrific....would appreciate the name of the CO- were they q good?

well, he said he couldn't actually do anything for dd as she was just very loud and vocal - nothing wrong in a CO way. (he didn't charge me for his time.) he was really nice.

It was in the Yellow Pages - The Battersea Osteopathic Practice, I think (on Webb's Road).

btw, do you/did you use the creche at Tooting gym? wondering if I know you...sound familiar (the age of your new ds) D

dinny · 17/07/2004 17:46

madgirl · 17/07/2004 17:54

dinny, no i haven't used the creche, if you e me then i'll e you back revealing my identity.!

hmm, probably don't know you but I'll mail you anyway!

God, bet I get something like that - dreading imminent labour.

Yeah that's why I was going to be in Farringdon hon'. Can't remeber the actual name but have details at home and not in for rest of week. You can phone me later though, do you still have my mobile number? I'll dig the details out for you. It's not far from the NCP car park, about a 10 minute walk from Pizza Express where we met.

So how was everything - you had another little boy did you, congratulations love .
We're boith fine thanks for asking.
Call me later if you want if not I'll try and get on at home and post the info up on here.

The British School of Osteopathy (based on Borough High Street - near London Bridge) have a specialist babies / children clinic. Although the treatments are given by final year students they are completely supervised by their tutors and don't do anything without having it checked first. I have been going there throughout my pregnancy (for back pain) and it has been brilliant. It is also very cheap as it is a teaching school. The childrens clinic charges £12 for the initial consultation and £9 thereafter and its even cheaper if you can claim concessionary rates. Here is the link:
