I have had this a couple of times with Immac. I now put a layer of vaseline on before the cream and it still gets the hair off but without the nasty effects.

Thanks. sounds a very good tip. half of me is really pleased with the results ( haven't used creams before) but i can't believe what a mess i've made of my face. i am sooo glad i am not going anywhere special tomorrow. i have just left it, presume putting anything else on will make matters worse. did your bad effects subside quickly or i am i in for a few days of looking a mess?

Have you tried Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream. It works wonders on things like that!
A good concealer always helps too!!!!

You need to cool the area - try a clean facecloth in v cold water and use it like a compress, should be gone quickly
Boots do a facial hair remover which comes with vitamin E cream to use afterwards, should stop it happening

The acid in lemon juice will counter the burning effect of the alkaline in the hair remover. Works a treat - I had to use it once around my bikini line! Or you can try vinegar... dilute either the lemon or the vinegar in a little water and use cotton wool as a compress to the affected area.

Thankyou, i will try the vinegar, don't have any lemons or eight hour cream unfortunately. my face is quite a mess today, like burns/scabs. don't know whether to let it dry out quick and get the worst over with or keep it moisturised as it feels so tight and dry. am debating having day off work tomorrow as can't face telling everyone what a wally i've been . i had to go out this morning so put lots of makeup on but you could still see it and i think the make up might make it worse. will go and try vinegar...

I think the vinegar / lemon juice trick tends to only work just after the application of hair remover, but am sure if you tried it now it wouldn't do any harm. Unfortunately it sounds as if you have a mild burn so do you have any after sun or gentle moisturiser which you could apply (nothing perfumed or fancy that could irritate it further?) Don't worry, it will heal! We've all done something like this...
