saucepans fine - but if they have like white sauce or something in then you may end up washingthem by hand after. They also take up a lot of space. Stick it in unless really dirty or you need the space.

Don't put in glasses with logos on or, if you have any, cups with hand prints or photos if you don't want them to fade. It depends how precious they are to you

Fubsychicksnbunnies · 29/03/2007 11:51

I read that you can put your keyboard in.

I presume it has to be disconnected from the computer first!

MintChocChippyMinton · 29/03/2007 11:53

surely not? Mine doesn't like water, coffee, juice...can't see it liking hot water and detergent.

DimpledThighs · 29/03/2007 11:57

when I said anything I meant any kitchen stuff not anything in your house!

Cloudhopper · 29/03/2007 12:02

I started washing plastic stuff and bottles by hand, but eventually worked up the courage to put them in the dishwasher, thank god.

Now I put absolutely everything in there except wood and aluminium items.

Lucycat · 29/03/2007 12:07

It's worth while rinsing any tomato sauce type food off plates before they go in or they will stain any white plastic a vile orange colour.

My IKEA chopping boards are testament to this!

DaffodilsforeasterFlower3554 · 29/03/2007 12:13

I don't put anything in mine that has

A a non-stick coating ie pans with this

B anything made of wood

C anything with a black plastic handle, they go a funny gray colour.

If you remember that the top shelf is for more delicate stuff and the bottom for sturdier stuff you won't go too far wrong.

kittypants · 29/03/2007 12:19

thanks all.

We had one of these to keep all the little bits and pieces of bottles together, and upright, so they got washed properly. Also if something like a bottle teat gets dislodged from the shelf, and ends up in the bottom of the dishwasher, it might melt onto the heating element there.

kittypants · 29/03/2007 12:27

so you just put them on top shelf.
