When did you give your baby their first hair cut?

I think it's time but am torn between the people telling me it needs cutting and the people telling me to hold off as long as possible because 'it will never be the same again'. Do I chance swapping curls for a combover or risk my baby morphing into Cousin It?

Another baldy here - I think DS didn't really get hair until he was about 2! Then got beautiful curls. Then we cut it and it is now dead straight. It's Harry Potter hair - you can practically shave it and the next day it looks exactly how it did before it was cut!

Mine is 2yrs 4mths and still haven't cut it apart from me doing a fringe. I'm not too precious about it just dont think she'll sit still long enough to get it done. Even bribing with snacks! She doesn't stay still for teeth brushing even that's only 2mins!

My little boy had his at 6months.

All around the 12 month mark.

DH has longer hair, and now both DS' (ages 7.5 and 6) want longer hair too, so that's fine. But I wasn't going to be dealing with a mullet. As someone else said, you can always tell which parents are attached to their child's ratty locks.

DD (age 2) has a bob; it's parted down the middle and we sweep one side over and pin a little bow in it. It looks adorable. I don't like long hair on little girls - they always look drowned by it, IMO.

I followed old maids, as they say, the child must have their first hair cut at the age of one.
