DS2 is being baptised in 4 weeks - he'll be almost 9 months old
I don't want to put him in baptism robes, but I want to get him something white / cream probably, and preferably something that doesn't require a bank loan and that he can wear again (even if it will be filthy in 0.46 seconds )
Any suggestions mners?

Ds was baptised in a Catholic church and you are supposed to wrap the baby in a white blanket. He wore a very plain (new, not grungily re-washed)white babygro (he was also 9 months old and looked a bit silly in it, but I think we were trying to presuade the priest that he was much younger, as in the Catholic church you are supposed to be baptised as soon as possible). I bought a cream pashmina to wrap round him. Since then I have lent it to a couple of people for their children's christenings, DD can wear it for hers and DS has been kind enough to lend it to his old mum on a few occasions. Not cheap, but good vfm and a nice - and useful - keepsake . BTW as soon as we got home for the party I dressed him in his usual clohes - which were lovely but not special enough for a christening.

Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and Bhs all sell reasonably-priced outfits for boys that are suitable for christenings (silk-types IYKWIM)
