I live in Wellingborough. I want to get my 10month old daughter's ears pierced. I can't find someone to do it. Where can I go and how much does it cost?

I will deffinately not pay as little as 3pounds! I know by paying more you get quality. But I would rather wait and do it in SA then. Much cheaper.

that's it you wait and get it done later

15 years would be good

powder28 · 20/03/2007 12:26

I remember wanting my ears pierced so badly when i was little and even dreaming about it! Eventually had them done when i was 14 and then again when i was 16. Now i cant wear any for fear of fascinated babies pulling them out. OUCH

katwith3kittens · 20/03/2007 12:28

Ear lobes continue growing throughout your life, so what might have`started off as nice and central piercing in a youngster may well end up being at a funny place in an adult. Something to think about.

Hatters make hats !!!

Used to use mercury in the olden days to fix the felt on Top Hats. Exposure obviously sent them mad.

I think you've made up your mind and it is after all your decision as its your child

but as you are not British I do feel I should mention that if you live here it is quite a 'class issue' having your child's ears pierced IMO .. people have a tendency to look down on it and the British middle classes don't in general find it 'cute' or 'appealing' but regard it as chavvy and common

I wouldn't want to pigeonhole a child

ELF1981 · 20/03/2007 12:42

Ear piercing in babies never bothered me until I had my own DD, and I could not imagine letting her have her ears done (she's nearly 18 months). It was bad enough taking her for her jabs, but at least there was a good reason behind that.

princesscc · 20/03/2007 12:47

LOL! Wouldn't want to pigeon hole anyone into different classes either would you?, eh Twiglet? Know what you mean tho!

Twiglett · 20/03/2007 13:05

I should rephrase that as "I wouldn't want to pigeonhole a child as a chav"

princesscc · 20/03/2007 13:08

Do you think the chavs have varying stages of chavviness. Like the bigger the hoop - the more chavvy?

Leander · 20/03/2007 13:10

Dont do it.My mum pierced my ears when i was a baby and now the are not proper holes they are slits because my earrings got caught when i was playing and the ripped my ears
my dd 23 months will NOT be getting hers done for a very long time if ever.
