Do you enjoy going on long walks as a family?

Am I in fantasy land? I look forward to when my three dcs are a little bigger and we can all go on long walks - maybe even go on holiday to the Peak District or somewhere and do loads of walking. They usually enjoy it at the moment, close to home, and I am trying to build up their muscles so that they are used to it! I don't know if teenagers would enjoy that but what about say aged 6-11. What's your experience? Thank you.

This is all very encouraging. We aim to enjoy long walks, and are working on it. Went to Epping forest in the autumn for the day and that was lovely! Picnic, masses of crunchy leaves, mushrooms, etc.

Yeah, I agree it is all very encouraging. I've got them going for about an hour and a half and they are only 5, 3 and 1 in a backpack so it looks like 2011 Peak District here we come. Great. Thanks everyone.

What's at Bedgebury BH? Tunbridge Wells is a drive away for us, but would be worth it for somewhere nice to walk. Ds2 is now out of the buggy, so longer walks should be easier these days. We often go for walks to local parks etc, but keen to find new places to go. The dc are used to walking for an hour or so.
