for work...ds at preschool and i need to make some money..going back to old job not an option

i have put together dvds of his best moments set to songs for christmas / birthdays and was wondering if others with shed loads of video would want something condensed into a song length to share with family / friends?

would it be too much of a faff or is it worth setting up website to see what the interest would be etc

do any of you guys think this basic idea is a goer or do you all do it yourselves too?

my only other idea is to train as teacher...

I love children too! (I'm a Nanny)

Don't you fancy doing the NNEB course???

suzycreamcheese · 15/03/2007 23:33

mildmanneredjanitor..thanks for link..
have only time for quick shifty just now..

I trained in photography and film and what i was thinking of was taking video, editing the best bits, with discussion of course and creating condensed film edited to beat of tune chosen.
..e.g. we did ds birth tape to 'what a difference a day makes' with proper titles etc and dvd had cover w/ pics and stuff...
other ones i've done have kept some dialogue..

oh...
its probably too personal to let someone else do this but it felt good to have something condensed and it makes goood pressies for skint folks like us to give..just thought some folks wouldnt have time to do this...

scottish thistle..what is it?
dont know if being nanny would be right for me, but would consider qualification if it let you work in pre schools / nurseries that kind of thing..

i looked into doing classroom assistant and round here you need experience before being considered and as i have degree thought to retrain as teacher...

NNEB course gives you a Nursery Nurse qualification, it's a great course...My class was half young, half mature women & many went on to be Nursery Nurses.

any idea of the salary expectations? if thats not too cheeky to ask?

the preschool toddfellows are my favourites, full of beans and nonsense too we get on well...
and after attending loads of playgroups and such have lots of ideas on how to or at least how not to do it...

You'd have to ask a Nursery Nurse about salary I'm afraid I've no idea sorry, put a post under Nanny/Childminder topic!

There was a chap on Dragons Den who runs a company doing just this: he didn't get the investment, but his company is doing well, so there must be a market for this sort of service!

suzycreamcheese · 16/03/2007 00:13

thanks molesworth..interesting to know..
i need to do some research, i guess just wanted some gut reactions etc..

I wish I could remember the name of the company SCC - it wasn't a one man band though; they had about 15 staff if I remember correctly!

The main criticism seemed to be that people can do this themselves increasingly easily, but - to my mind - that's rather like saying anyone can make a website. Yes they can, but will they do it to professional standards? So I reckon there will be a demand for someone with the skills to produce a really slick, professional product.

thanks molesy,..hopefully get to do some research on this at weekend...
