It's an area I know well from holidays and visiting family, but what is it like to live there? Are the schools good? What about the hospitals? Is it a good place to bring up dcs?

We used to go down to Devon and Cornwall a lot from Ciren. IIRC it's only about an hour to the M5 and then it's straight down. I think we used to do Cornwall in about 3 hours.

I just remembered too the little open air pool in Cirencester. I used to love going there after work on a sunny evening and having a swim.

There's also a fantastic pub called the Twelve Bells with a very cantankerous landlord called Bob, who swears at you if you order lager.

Had a chat with dh and he is going down to look at some houses! Then if he sees any that he likes I'll go - sounds a lot of palaver but we don't want to be dragging three little dcs around with us and our only reliable overnight babysitters are about to get married!

It all sounds so lovely

We saw Zara Phillips buying some ciggies in the convenience store in Winchcombe once!

ooh this is making me home sick I lived in Lechlade as a child, went to the primary there, then Farmor's in Fairford, moved to Winchcombe at 16, my sis still lives there and my brother has just moved to a village near Malmesbury...menawhile I live in Co Durham - which I love, it has to be said - and I can afford a much bigger house here than I could there! Good luck with the house hunting nearlythree

Thank you very much, houses seem to be selling quite quickly. It's where I feel most at home on earth, other people go to the Seychelles for honeymoon and we went to the Cotswolds!
