Our house is moving at one end, has been supposedly undergoing work since August, but we are now back where we started!! The company have decided it IS next doors trees, - a possibility they actually ruled out in September. We had to move to the other side of England in January, work relocation, so now supporting two houses!!! Ready to tear my, or preferably surveyors, hair out. We could sell it as it is, without any repair work, and the insurers will give us the difference between the valuation of house as it is, and valuation of house were it all finished. What shall we do? Has anyone done this, or know anyone who has? Sorry for essay, but I'd really appreciate some advice! Or just some sympathy.....

Blimey what an effing nightmare ,you have my heartfelt sympathy.I think I would sell if you aren't going to lose out money wise.
The added stress it must be causing you will be gone, that is worth a lot imo.
Sorry no experience or advice to impart.

I'd get it sold quick. That Homesellers pack thing comes in this June I think, which might make things even more difficult for you.

Yes I'd sell it unless you can get the necessary work done pronto. It is costing you money supporting an empty house. It will be free to get estate agent valuations and get it on the market in the meantime as is - if you can't sell it then get the work done?

Is it the sort of property that could be developed further - ie would a cash buyer be interested in doing the work and extending/improving at the same time?
