What sort of person do we need to employ (re project managing driveway/fencing/garden type stuff)?

We want to get our driveway totally resurfaced (in addastone or pressed concrete), and also need to replace the fencing and gate at the front of the house (wood to be replaced with either wrought iron or wood). This will involve reshaping the garden very slightly. At the same time, I'd like to consider the longer term plan for the back garden, which is pretty much as it was when we moved in, the plan for which may possibly involve some extension on the house, to the utility room and conservatory.

Dh and I tend to faff a lot, and say 'let's do this', but then never get around to it, so we'd like someone who can drive all of this forward, and get the relevant people involved to actually carry out any works that we go ahead with.

What sort of person do we need to employ who can do all of this for us, and how do we go about finding a good one in our area (N Herts)?

a landscape gardener or a small builder

Thanks zippi - I'd wondered about a landscape gardener, but didn't know if they'd deal with all the hard landscaping or not - I guess I just have to find one that does.

yes they will that's what they make their money from

a gardener/landscaper - call a few, go & see their work at other houses & then decide.
