maths question - meter square.

please can someone help me work this out.

my room is 10ft by 10ft - the tiles i want come in 2.5sq meter packs who many packs do i need???

what size are the individual tiles, fd? How many in a pack?

10ft is a bit less than 3.5 m.
3.5 x 3.5 = 12.25 sqare metres.
Divide by 2.5 means you need 5 packs to be on the safe side.

Hang on, was looking at it the wrong way - your room is basically 9 sq m - I suppose 4 packs would do it (????)

1 foot = 0.305 metres.

10 feet = 3.05 metres

3.05 x 3.05 = 9.3025

Do you mean the tile packs cover 2.5 sq metres?

1m = 40"
10' = 120" = 3m

4 packs needed FD:

10.000 foot [ft] equivalent to: 3.04800 metre [m]

10X10 = 100 square feet so:
100 sq foot [ft2] equivalent to: 9.29 sq metre [m2]

9.29/2.5 = 3.716

So you need 4 packs I think

agree exactly with hulababy's calculations

you'll need 4 packs, this should leave you with approx 30% of a box remaining.

thank you i finally worked it out and i also got 4packs

i can now go to the store without looking compleatly stupid.
