Have I:

a) traumatised ds for life

b) infested the house / our bodies with some hideous parasite????

All these tragi-comic stories

I approached the matter very delicately with ds "I'm not quite sure if I can see the bee any more, darling"

"No Mummy I think a bird has probably eaten it"

I did indeed Do The Circle of Life

"How wonderful! Your bee is giving life and energy to a bird right now!"

"Yes mummy can we have popcorn now?"

LOL

I think that unless your DS and the rest of his class regurgitate nectar, they will be at no risk of infestation by Bee Lice.

I asked him

"Have you been regurgitating nectar?"

Answer "Yes"

franny - I think i'm going to keep BF my DS in the hopes that he turns out as cool as yours!
(by the way Rowan and I would like a lice-free room please, when we come to stay. thanks!)

It is cool to regurgitate nectar, now?

I may have to fumigate the entire house at this rate, pmdw. Don't pack your bags yet.

My LOs found a few worms last summer and they put them in a toy wheelbarrow - needless to say, the next day they were a bit crunchy!
We also had slug in a bucket - they filled it with water so he could have a paddling pool too...

purplemonkeydishwasher · 09/03/2007 11:39

are his ears waxier than normal? he's making a hive.

becklespeckle · 09/03/2007 11:40

and our cat left us a dead mouse as a 'present' yesterday, DS1 wanted to keep it - went inside and cried his little eyes out "I just wanted to see it move, poor mouse"
(DH has agreed to get him a hamster...)

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2007 11:41

Oh we are back to wearing the Easter bonner now, apparently he is a bad witch killer called "Maysissence"

I need a lie down

Wonderful stories!!

My mum showed DD when she was about 2 how to pour salt on a slug ( they go all slimey and fizzle and dissolve - it's not nice) Anyway - asked mum not to do this again as I don't think it's right - garden pest or no garden pest - ever since then every time we see one in the garden I have to physically restrain DD from reaching for the Cerebos iodised !!

yeahinaminute · 09/03/2007 11:49

Franny - love these made up names - where do they get them - apparantly DD's "husband" is called Chocolate Mess !!!

filthymindedvixen · 09/03/2007 18:54

As long as he doesn't start calling himself Maysissenzzzzzzzzzz...

Greensleeves · 10/03/2007 16:46

1 adopted a FLY today at our allotment he started crooning it and trying to stroke and saying "oh...look how little he is...he's so sweet...oh, he's crawling up my sleeve mummy, look, he loves me..."

filthymindedvixen · 10/03/2007 19:01

My 2 had a Worm Hotel going on at the allotment today (keeps them quiet but probably not terribly worm-friendly...)

That's fine but ds2 had to be frisked before we left. Sure enough, I retrieved 5 (by this point) dead worms, 3 snails and 1 unidentifiable pupa thingy (looked like a witchety grub in size) from his pockets

MrsApron · 10/03/2007 19:10

i knew this would be you!

Neither you have introduced him to new mini beasts!

FrannyandZooey · 11/03/2007 12:32

Heard him singing to himself yesterday

"My lovely bee

got eaten by a bird

my lovely bee

has turned into a bird"

kiskidee · 11/03/2007 12:34

i will take your word that the bee has lice franny, but i am sure taht they are so eco-specific that they can't survive anywhere for too long except on a bee or other bug.

FrannyandZooey · 11/03/2007 12:37

or inside a bird
