DS's a little gem

A bit of a story .... dd (18 months) got bitten by a toddler at nursery a few weeks back. DS (nearly 3) bit the kid that bit dd because he'd bitten his sister. I was angry that ds had bitten but at the same time felt very proud of him for sticking up for his sister. No the less didn't tell him this and he was told off and sent to bed as soon as he came home from nursery. Anyway this kid that bit dd that ds bit back (are you keeping up with this) bit ds yesterday and ds didn't retaliate at all. From all accounts he stood there and shouted 'No bite, biting naughty'. Bless him. I just felt so proud that he'd not retaliated and proud that when it 1st happened he was sticking up for his baby sister. I just wanted to tell someone. I', also a little concerned that there seems to be a spate of biting going around nursery at the moment and 9 out of 10 time it seems to be my kids on the recieveing end. Any advice????

talk to the nursery and see whether your children are being singled out or whether they have a biter there at the moment. There was a spate when my son was pinching everyone- lasted about 2 weeks and about 10 children ended up with scratches on their face (I almost died every time I saw them). I spoke to nursery and they said they weren't particularly worried (we had a strategy in place to stop it which worked after 2 weeks) because individual children weren't being singled out- but they would have been more concerned if one particular child was being pinched all the time. So have a chat.

That was a great reaction by your DS and shows he'd listened to you.

I think it does seem to happen in spates - one child bites and the biter then bites and it goes round like that.

Isn't he a star?? I must admit I was pleased when I thought yep he does actually take in some of what I say to him. Shame his dad doesn't!!!!!!
