sorry for lack of caps b/f baby

the health and safety thig is to do with capacity. every venue has a max allowed inc babes in arms so even if they don't take a seat they can't go over their numbers.

some venues allow for this in their pricing structure, others charge everyone regardless.

Tallulah that's really grim. I would only ever take the kids to a kiddies' film, when TBH you expect a bit of noise. Nikcola we took DS1 for 1st time when he was about 3 and a bit (stuart Little 2) and he was fine. DD went for 1st time aged just 2 (piglet's Big Movie, ugh). She is h/ever a very concentrating child, will sit thru video at early age. DS1 warns her as the lights go down "it's going to be very loud" then HE puts fingers in ears and she is unconcerned! Anyway, we have also taken baby - he was "in arms" for the Piglet one therefore probably asleep but wide awake i think for Nemo last autumn and certainly for Cat in Hat - on his 1st b/day. As you say www I just took him out for a wander in the corridor when he got a bit fidgety.

Took DS (2.10) to see Shrek yesterday - his first trip to the cinema. I forgot how loud films are - DS was a little taken aback, but was transfixed for most of it. When he got a little fidgety I took him out, and took him back in just before the end. The Odeon didn't charge for him. We went to a morning screening and it was pretty empty - in fact, we had a whole section to ourselves.
