lol at aloha an wannabe posts
i know a woman in 30`s told me " i just cant do children, i love them dont get me wrong, i have nephews and nieces and cousins. i just dont want my own child" now a few years on she loves her dc. i think they dont know what is the real maternal or paternal love is. its different love than loving your dog or cat i guess.

I wonder if these people would like to imagine they came second in their parents' affections to the family pets?!

LieselVentouse · 01/03/2007 22:30

I did used to feel that though. I remember I once stopped a woman who had a pram (probably with a beautiful baby in it but I never noticed) and a Sheltie and I spoke to her for about 5mins about how gorgeous her dog was. She was v. nice about it but my mum said she would have been livid if people had ignored her children to talk to the dog.

My aunt never had kids always dogs they are her children. Not sure if she didn't want any or couldn't.

What's so weird about it? If she doesn't have children how can she be expected to know what it would feel like? I loved my cat before I had kids, I had no idea what it would feel like to be a mum.
Don't really uderstand why you "didn't think these people really existed...."

I do though remember being in a restaurant with my mum (pre-DD) and there was this family sitting nearby and they never shut up talking to this baby with their goofy faces and singy-songy words V. LOUDLY and it was doing my head in cause I couldnt hear my mum, then my mum said something I will never forget "people think because they love their kids that we have to love their kids just as much"
