Bounty Toddler Pack........anyone had one & what did you think?

I recently had a letter through inviting me to claim my free bounty toddler pack from Boots, which I collected yesterday. I was quite impressed with the one that's dished out in hospital after the birth of your baby and also with the progress pack you can claim at about 6 months, but was really disappointed with the toddler one.....in fact I thought it was a load of pants! Was hoping for some nice freebies but got a mini stick deodorant, some vanish tablets and loads of adverts......not impressed.
Has anyone else claimed their pack and what did you think? The letter also invites me to write or email Bounty to give suggestions about the pack, I think I should respond so they can maybe improve the contents.
What freebies do you think might be relevant or useful? I know they need to keep the costs down but I'm sure the present content could be improved.

I never bothered to claim mine having read somewhere else that they weren't worth it. Judging by your up to date list of the contents things haven't changed! Why don't they put a sample of the different brands of pull up nappies for instance, or a couple of toddler stage meals?

Claimed mine because for some reason I received 3 copies of the letter. Since my local Asda will accept money off vouchers (even if you don't buy the products tut tut ) I saved £4.50 on my shopping!

The contents do vary - in 2 packs I had the vanish tablets and in the other some gel sheets, (for reducing a childs temperature) which I found more useful.

Maybe they will improve over time, but at the moment I agree with Melly - pants!

Yup. Got mine yesterday - totally agree with you Melly. I thought the one in hospital and the one for 4 months was excellent, but this was really disappointing.

I forgot that they had asked for comments, and threw the letter away. Will look on the web site, and put my (totally constructive) comments on if there is somewhere to do so!

Not being ungrateful though

Snugs, that's a good point you mentioned about the coupons. I only realised that recently - as long as the store stocks the product, ASDA (and my Tescos) will accept the voucher - I wish I'd known that 2 years ago when ds was born, I could have saved a packet!

I think the problem is that Bounty is really just a marketing organisation which produces and distributes these packs on behalf of interested companies who want to get their products in front of new mums and 'families' (since these groups are known to spend most on groceries/household products etc. What's in the bags depends on how much interest/business Bounty have drummed up with their suppliers - obviously not much judging from your comments here!! It shouldn't be an excuse for distributing such pants stuff though - I would definitely let them have your feedback!
Incidently, which of the 'new baby' freebies are worth claiming these days - I'm expecting no.2 in 6 weeks and wasn't sure whether I'd bother, but I remember getting lots of coupons for half price nappies etc first time around?

I agree, Chiara71, they should put in something useful & healthy like toothbrush/toothpaste and vouchers for fresh fruit!

Been a while since I got the Toddler pack for dd. I agree that the products / coupons were limited - I think I threw most of the away - but it did include a Maisy video which dd absolutely loves! It gets put on whenever we need 10 minutes peace and keeps her very happy. So, in that respect the Bounty Toddler pack is great!

Motherofone, I have just had DS2 one week ago. I registered on-line with Pampers and Huggies, got lots of vouchers from Pampers and I think one voucher from Huggies but they sent loads of info on child development and a sample pack of four nappies. The Bounty pack in the hospital is definately worth a look. I got three separate packs (different companies I think) and there was loads of stuff, full size packs of wipes etc.

Yes, I thought the new baby one was more generous than 2 years ago with full size products but it annoyed me immensly as being OBSESSED with germs and toxins not babies!!. It goes on about that everything in the house should be disinfected before baby can go near it. Quoted something like '..removes germs on all potentially toxic surfaces(showing a picture of a cot!)' It takes it all too far, I agree with the need for nappy samples.. not bleach, more bleach and microban!!
