Bad driving epidemic. Everywhere or just here?

I don't know if it's just because a lot of people from lots of different areas (& therefore different driving practices) are moving to this town, but the driving here is getting downright scarey.

As well as the usual "I'm going left so I don't have to stop" at roundabouts, we are now getting people in the right hand lane turning left by cutting across the traffic! People jump red lights all the time & whenever there is a queue they get in the wrong lane so they can push in. Their other favourite trick is to drive really really slowly for miles, then as soon as it's safe for you to pull out to overtake they speed up & race you! When you give in & pull back in they slow back down again.

Tonight I was approaching the traffic lights that go into our local Sainsburys. There was a huge queue in the left lane- most go round into the store- & no-one in the right lane. I was carrying straight on, so I was in the right lane. Some twat of a youngish woman pulled out in front of me at about half my speed. I didn't beep her or flash her, just slowed down. She starts sticking her fingers up & mouthing w*ker through the window! Hello? YOU are in the wrong, not me. I would love to have the nerve to stop & haul her out of the car & get her to explain exactly why she felt the need to do that- it made me really annoyed. Fair enough if I'd antagonised her or if I'd done something stupid. Makes me wish I was 6 ft tall..

Anyone else getting really fed up with this sort of thing?

I think you'll find it everywhere tallulah. I hope I don't offend anyone here but when we go on hols to the Lake District, we do seem to come across our fair share of twats in Kendal!! probably just other holidaymakers though

Tallulah, either we live in the same place - or all my neighbours have just moved to your town.
No-one considers it necessary to indicate in S London, and the only application for your hazard lights is for when you are double parked on a red route in the bus lane at rush hour because you can't be bothered to walk 100m to the cash machine. Obviously in a one way street, you can travel in reverse for up to half a mile rather than be inconvenienced by going round the system.

I've been muttering about bad driving all day. Had 2 near misses today (also think I heard ds2 say a bad word- oh dear- my lack of talking children means I've never curbed my language- better stop!)
