is this the most gorgeous princess dressing up style dress you've ever seen or a horrible monstrosity that I shouldn't even contemplate

am so torn

I knew what that was going to be before i even clicked on it. I think they are gorgeous, have looked at them hundreds of times...never brought one though so no help there.

danceswithnewboots · 25/02/2007 15:44

I really want to pretend I have only impeccable taste and say monstrosity but dd would love it and it's the sort of thing I would love to wear to a fancy dress party so I could swish all evening

Kbear · 25/02/2007 15:45

it is wonderful, I want one in my size!!! buy it!

danceswithnewboots · 25/02/2007 15:45

OOOh, with a much lower neckline for me, don't want to miss out on 'heaving bosom' opportunities either

Twiglett · 25/02/2007 15:47

heheheheeh ... just to be completely clear I'm thinking of it for my almost 3 year old not me

Kbear · 25/02/2007 15:47

have one each, you can be princesses together

NappiesGalore · 25/02/2007 15:48

well.... i hate all that princessy stuff me, was always much more of a tomboy as a kid and i just dont 'get' all that pink stuff.... but, have to admit, i prob wouldve loved dressing up in that if id had it

MrsBadger · 25/02/2007 15:50

it is lovely, esp if you're 3
but
does it go in the washing machine?
can you ride a tricycle in it?

just a thought...

Tamum · 25/02/2007 15:52

Oh go on go on go on...

paulaplumpbottom · 25/02/2007 15:53

I think its lovely

NappiesGalore · 25/02/2007 15:54

everything goes in the washing machine. not everything survives but thats another matter

riding a trike in it might be a PITA but 3yos are a pretty tenacious lot

At first look I thought horrible but on closer inspection it's nice, buy it.

Jimjams2 · 25/02/2007 15:56

It's vile, but I would have loved it aged 3.

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2007 15:59

definitely gorgeous for a little girl for dressing up, she'll love it

Twiglett · 25/02/2007 16:10

still torn

MrsBadger makes valid points ... I think this is the kind of dress they buy for US style kiddy beauty pageants rather than puddle and mud stomping (which lets face it is far more likely)

you see if they had one of those pointy hats with the veil hanging down the back to go with it .. it might just tip me over the edge

DD already said 'me like it'

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 25/02/2007 16:38

I just can't help thinking how uncomfortable it looks to wear...
I know the Woolworths elasticated polyester ones aren't nearly as cute but they don't have an awkward zip up the back or a train to drag in puddles

and rememebr if she falls in love with it she will end up wearing it to Tesco, nursery, on the school run, in bed etc.

Twiglett · 25/02/2007 17:14

yes you're right .. shame the elizabeth swann dress would be too huge for her though

will think on

Sainsbury's has some nice - well, you know, nice in that way stuff.

Come round and play Dressing Up with DD2 - we have some adorable stuff, the most adorable (a mermaid frock with tail) coming from Tamum's DD.

Twiglett · 25/02/2007 17:22

we'd love to

Tamum's so lovely isn't she

motherinferior · 25/02/2007 17:22

She is indeed. It's an adorable frock.

Twiglett · 25/02/2007 17:22
