TEETHING AND NOT EATING!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to my dd who is 10 mths old and is currently teething she will only eat small amounts of finger foods- whenever I try her with spoon feeding she will take 3 mouthfuls and then start crying-even her beloved yoghurts that she used to devour she is no longer interested in.She is on 2 bottles a day(8fl oz) and 3 meals. I am worried that she is not getting enough to eat.

my ds is the same when he is teething. he is now 2 and just has 1 more tooth to go. try not to worry..they will not starve, its only short term and their appetitues soon come back.
give her more bottles. give her plenty of the foods she will eat, even if it means she is eating the same thing for 3 meals, again its only for a short time.
will she eat cold food straight out of the fridge? sometimes they like the coolness on gums.
how about pureed fruit? my ds always regresses to pureed food when teething, and prefers fruit to savoury.
give her a Teetha about 5mins before feeding.

My DD survived on 1-2 fromage frais per day for MONTHS and just had no interest in food at all. I eventually stopped beating myself up about it and let her set the pace, rather than trying to force her into eating (not possible). She is fine, gained weight some how through out and now eats like a horse (25months, all teeth present and correct) She will not starve herself. HTH

Same experience here! Don't worry, she won't starve. Just let her eat what she will, offer things you know she likes as well as things you would like her to eat, but don't get upset if she doesn't eat them. When the teeth come through (or stop bothering her) she will eat aagain. And she will probably make up for it too! The important thing for you right know is not to get upset because that will only lay the groundwork for future food battles. Don't get drawn into offering her 'junk' eg cakes and sweets, just to get her to eat. This will pass.

She might like to have a teether or rubbery spoon to hold during meals so that she can gnaw on it.

BTW, my ds went through this at about 8.5m, didn't put any weight on at all for one month, then took just 4weeks to catch up with himself. Scarey when it happens (especially when you can see the ribs and hip bones on a 'chubby' baby) but an education! So don't worry - honest .
