Goodnight Seattle: the LAST Frasier this week!

I thought I'd been through loss. After all, I've weathered the last ever Buffy, and am stoically awaiting the last ever Angel. And yes, they were hard to bear but hey, life has to go on. I sat through the last Friends and SATC without flinching. I even, once in days gone by, endured the fabulous, wonderful, final episode of Cheers.

But the last ever Frasier?

I agree MI. I haven't seen if for a while, but will definitely be watching the last episode. So sad!! Niles is my favourite!

I have always loved Frasier, but the last 2 series haven't been a patch on the earlier ones.

I love Niles too! The best over bit in Frasier was the 5 minute sequence where he managed to set fire to Frasiers sofa while ironing his clothes! Magic stuff.

And great that we never met Maris, so clever.

I love Frasier, I want his flat! So true that even though the last series haven't been as brilliant, they are still extremely good!! Can't stand Daphne's mum and relatives though.... Niles is fabulous. Will Daphne explode or have that baby, she's been huge for so long hasn't she?

bettys · 21/06/2004 10:41

This last series of Frasier has picked up a lot of its' earlier style - loved the episode with Jean-Luc Picard! Very very sad it's going - what are they going to replace all these shows with? The schedules are pretty dire at the moment with no must-see comedies coming through.

I think it went through a dip, but some of this last series has been FANTASTIC. The J-L Picard one had me cringing and in stitches simultaneously.

I don't know anyone else who watches this, so pleased to see this thread. Don't you all find it fustrating that it got moved to late night Weds & then they say the ratings have dropped...I just don;t always remember to video it which drives me nuts. Must remember for this week tho.
It is good that they aren't just making him end up with Ros, I did like Lilith tho. & all the Maris bits are brilliant.
Yet another thing where I can say dh just doesn't understand.

I really am going to miss Frasier. Think it is an excellent programme that managed to maintain a consistently high standard. Even it's lows were way higher than most of the british comedy offerings.

Will be sadly missed

oh, and I loved Eddie best

Caribbeanqueen · 21/06/2004 21:29

I loved the one where Martin pretended to be gay and got Niles to act as his partner! (a while ago) Had me in stitches.

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to face Anthony LaPaglia doing cockernee again, it took me years to take him seriously as an actor after that little cameo. Agree with all here that it will be a sad day. Am I the only one who hoped Frasier and Roz might make a couple at the end?
My dh, a real Frasier die-hard, says that he thinks the huge dip in the programme's quality happened after one of the founders died in the 9/11 hijackings. He thinks it knocked the whole team for six. So great to see it going out on a high.

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 14:24

I think it wasn't doing brilliantly before that, but I tend to agree with your DH, Marina.

(I do possess, somewhere, the Cafe Nervosa Cookbook and another book of Frasier trivia, bought for me in a moment of broken heartedness by a thoughtful friend pointing out that my life was after all not THAT bad

OK, I'm braced for it. Going to stay up and all.
