tigers, lions, zebras, etc.

Its coming to town next week. DD really wants to go but I'm unhappy about supporting such a set up.
Even if they do look after their animals as best they can, travelling around in a cage is no life for them.

will be illegal to have wild animals in touring circuses in 2008.

Makes one worry what will happen to these naimals when theyare no longer required alhtogh from what I ahve read there are only one or two such circuses.

it was still amazing - sorry but it was. It was so shocking that it was amazing - forbidden fruit etc.

and I think that eating eggs born my chickens living in batery farms, veal, etc etc is as bad if not worse tbh.

twinsetandpearls · 12/02/2007 17:05

relavant info here

Whoooosh · 12/02/2007 17:06

Sorry but I feel the saem way about circuses as I do about the old fashined "Freak Shows"

twinsetandpearls · 12/02/2007 17:06

I think it was a Bobby Roberts circus I saw and he did ahve an elephant although it did no more than walk arond the ring - but looked veryunhappy - even dd who was very litle noticed.

GhostOfJuliet · 12/02/2007 17:06

never
ppor animals

Beetrootccio · 12/02/2007 17:06

the animals I saw had the smell of the grease paint and were smiling and the wind in their tails

GhostOfJuliet · 12/02/2007 17:07

poor

twelveyeargap · 12/02/2007 17:07

Probably not. Horses I don't mind - it's very hard to train a horse that isn't happy. "Wild" animals are a different matter.

twinsetandpearls · 12/02/2007 17:09

clips and pictuers here have to admit I am too soft and emotional to look

2shoescoveredinhearts · 12/02/2007 17:11

no

Tirnanog · 12/02/2007 17:16

No I would want to liberate them all,so we'd end up with all manner of unusual pets.

tenbygirl · 12/02/2007 17:49

Well I explained to DD WHY we wouldn't be going and then took her to the chip shop for a treat.

She told the lady in the chip shop off for having a poster up advertising the circus

No. I went once before to a circus with animals and it was really uncomfortable. I'm surprised they still allow it. My dd was three at the time and we left early because she felt upset about the animals.

It was really horrible.

NorksBrideOHara · 12/02/2007 18:07

No. I don't like zoo's much either.

Besides, there might be clowns. Which is far worse.
