Was in Boots yesterday and was totally shocked to see this is still on the market. Both dds were conceived using this. Anyone else

Were you using it as a contraceptive? I used it when trying to conceive (to pinpoint ovulation).

My dd1 was born following use of this as a contraceptive. I would use it as a conception aid if I needed any help conceiving again. DD2 didn't need persona's help avoiding our prcautions!

I bought it and took it back as the instructions inside said if your cycle was sometimes 35 days long it doesn't work.

No, HD, to prevent conception

I considered buying Personna to get pregnant after a miscarrage. Was getting desperate to concieve. But didn't need it in the end. I used to work for Boots and the amout of people who brought it back for a refund after getting pregnant. I wouldn't ever trust it as a contraceptive.

My SIL used it for years and years as a contraceptive and then when she wanted to fall she used it to and fell the first month. I am TTCing and looked into it and the company recommend that you only use it if it would be alright if you fell pregnant as it is only 96% accurate while the pill is 99.7 or whatever.

My friend's mum worked in a centre for population studies. Persona was developed as an aid to conception (and worked very well for us with ds1- we had been trying for 8 months nothing- then after 3 months got it with persona). The company then marketed it as a contraception- I think realising there would be more money in that. I think it does say in the instructions that its not that reliable though......

Bollocks, woodpops, wished I'd thought of that!

I've been using this since it came on the market - both as contraception and to aid conception. OK, DD1 wasn't planned (or WAS planned, but not meant to "appear" until the following year iyswim!), but then we did "do it" on a red day in the middle of my cycle, so it was our own fault! I think when it came out it was said to be as reliable as condoms.
