If you ask my 3 year old son what his favourite colour is, it's always pink and purple. We went to buy new sippy cups yesterday and he chose - bright pink. Ask him what he wants for his birthday, pink cakes and purple pizza.

I don't want to put stereotypical thoughts into his head so I just let him crack on with it but am wondering at what point his love of pink will get difficult for him e.g. with other boys as preschool etc or don't they care until much later? So far we've managed to avoid pink clothes but I can see his birthday party ending in tears as I've bought pink ballerina aprons for the girls and blue dinosaur aprons for the boys.

Anyone else have this?

I think Pink is a firm favourite for 3 years old, DS has slightly outgrown it but dear, didn't he LOVED it!

DS2 is 6.5 and his favourite colour is still pink. DDS1 used to like it, but changed his mind in reception (group pressure I suppose) and he now likes red. DS2 is quietly confident in his likes and has never had any problems at school with liking 'girly' things - you can't tease someone who won't rise to the bait! Him and his best friend often do swaps of those mini care bears in school

Plus side of my DSs not being 'typical boys' is that they have lots of girl friends (not girlfriends iyswim), and DS1 (nearly 9) is one of the few boys in class who still gets invited to their birthday parties.
