Hi, i'm new to MN Wondered what people thought...our buyers have asked us, via their solicitor, if we can rip up our carpets and dispose of them when we move out. This is an extra hassle for us. On our papers we say they are included. What would you say or do? (as I don't want to be too shirty and put them off buying!) Thanks

If it nmeans you house sells id rip them up TBH.

What about you get them up, they dispose, thus sharing the request equally.

If they are listed on your details they are included in the sale, they'll have to remove them.

/buyers sound a bit cheeky tbh!

buyers sound bloody cheeky and a bit lazy! tell them you'll pull them up and dispose and it will cost them £500.

well, that was my initial thought (cheeky & lazy- although I added a few swear words to those) They haven't even had the list of things included in the sale yet as I haven't submitted it yet to my solicitor! I think it's their responsibility, house sold as seen. But on the other hand, I don't want to start a "fight" and have them pull out. Although I don't think they will as they are expecting a baby in April and have 3 houses fall thru already...I think I'll say they are included but we will consider negotiation if absolutely necessary. The brass neck of some folk eh?

Why ?? Presumably they aren't moving straight in ? no I wouldn't agree unless they plan to pay for someone to come in and do it after completion(by which time it is theirs) and EA can give them access.

Our vendor wants to leave a load of cruddy furniture not included in the sale but that they just don't want to go to the trouble of disposing of !

Wouldn't do it because you are unlikely to be able to arrange it for exactly the day that you move out but if you have it done before and the sale falls through at the last minute you will be left with a house which is very difficult to sell. Actually, thinking about it, you would probably need to move all your stuff out first before you could have access to the carpets hence you end up possibly paying for your stuff to be stored overnight or for longer. Forget it - they're taking the piss!
