there's no point in buying extra virgin olive oil if you're going to be cooking with it

it's for dressings and doesn't cope well with hot temperatures

of course all of you ponces will already know this

ComeOVeneer · 24/01/2007 14:18

I no longer allow DH to do the shopping as he bought patterned toilet paper (it was on offer).

weepootleflump · 24/01/2007 14:19

I buy balsamic vinegar at around £14 for a small bottle - the rest on the shelf are priced from £1.50-£6.00.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't taste the difference either - I just like the feeling I get from putting it in my trolley

PrincessPeaHead · 24/01/2007 14:19

I agree completely capp

that's why I use lovely glurpy green greek olive oil.
but for everything though, I don't think the italian extra virgin crap has enough BODY for dressings even.

piglit · 24/01/2007 14:19

I only ever write with a fountain pen. Never a biro.

And agree about Twinings Earl Grey tea. Nothing else will do.

Tutter · 24/01/2007 14:20

weepootleflump, i am so with you

i'm goig to step away from this therad now, i am ponce to the core and am starting to feel shamed

PrincessPeaHead · 24/01/2007 14:20

she doesn't mind if I go or not. the B team are crap. and it is a wierd game - as soon as you get the ball you have to STOP DEAD! bloody silly. whaddya think?

tortoiseSHELL · 24/01/2007 14:20

I get a veg box from Riverford and groceries from Waitrose or the deli...

but that's it I think...will keep thinking on poncissity!

jalopy · 24/01/2007 14:20

I don't buy dirty lettuces.

PrincessPeaHead · 24/01/2007 14:21

NEVER a biro?
really?
how is that possible?

piglit · 24/01/2007 14:21

pph - it's a no brainer. Put the kettle on instead. Mine's a cup of early grey with a drop of skimmed milk.

weepootleflump · 24/01/2007 14:22

I don't/won't use public transport

jalopy · 24/01/2007 14:22

PPH, go. Feelings of guilt will torment you. .

bundle · 24/01/2007 14:22

piglit, dh bought non-twinings the other day

piglit · 24/01/2007 14:22

Always have a fountain pen in your handbag. I learned that at ponce school.

ItsMeMellowma · 24/01/2007 14:22

I also have a weird obsession thing going on with fabric softner... I must use around 5/6 bottles of the concentrated stuff in a week at times

You would think I would learn after I blocked the softner bit on my last washiing machine......

I love the Be Good to Yourself Range and love M&S overpriced stuff too

I have never been in Lidl

harpsichordcarrier · 24/01/2007 14:23

ha! god I've got loads
I can't bear instant coffee, even the smell makes me heave.
I got a discount on my room rent at college because I used to get up and do the reading at the early morning service in my college chapel.
I can't bear to listen to commercial radio or Radio One.
I am extremely particular about the type of champagne I drink and also gin and I turn up my nose at cheapo stuff.
the smell of cheap candles and air freshener makes me sneeze.

ItsMeMellowma · 24/01/2007 14:23

Never use public transport either, which is probably why I haven;t been in Lidl... bus journey, dh uses car

FatFikAndFugly · 24/01/2007 14:23

I've never cooked a fry up. I don't know how to fry an egg (although I can probably guess)

I never by cheap sausages.

I've never allowed my dd to eat tinned speghetti hop/shape things. ot tinned xyz with sausgaes

northerner · 24/01/2007 14:23

Cod I have no beauty ponces either. My make up bag is a mixture of Chanel/rimme/collection 2000. I use ASDA's own make up remover wipes.

I am no ponce and proud

bundle · 24/01/2007 14:23

speaking of ponce, here's an extract from the new set menu, at my favourite eaterie in Brighton, Terre A Terre...

"Moorish Yammy Mammy
Smoked tomato, caper and sultana verde Pate a Brik, accompanied by argan oil and almond skordalia, with spice pack yam waffle and falafel whip, nasturtium, fenugreek and pomegranate bead salad gastrique, with a cardamom, cinnamon bark, saffron and gigantis butterbean tagine"

piglit · 24/01/2007 14:23

Bundle - my mum got me some M&S earl grey when she was helping out after ds2 was born. Cack. Complete cack.

themoon66 · 24/01/2007 14:24

I admit to loving flat pack furniture... it's like lego for grown ups.. very enjoyable.

OOooooh... its finally started snowing (Lincolnshire always misses out as a rule)

ItsMeMellowma · 24/01/2007 14:24

I paid for a side room when I had ds1 in hospital....is that poncey??

Dhs father offered!!

PrincessPeaHead · 24/01/2007 14:24
