Exp gave me £25 a week for maintenance for dd. Ive just looked at my bank account and he has reduced payments to £10 without even discussing it with me!! Im so pissed off!!!! We made our own agreement for maintenance, and not through CSA. What can I do??? I feel like screaming my head off at him!!!

Tell him that if he doesn't put the payment back up and give you the arrears straight away, you will go through CSA after all (and I bet they make him pay more than £25 a week!)

Was your agreement informal? Nothing in writing?

tammybear · 03/06/2004 11:42

No, it was just between us, although I had applied for CSA but I didnt hear anything from them so I told exp to give me £25 a week

Tammybear, if he is going to change it without telling you then it is time to get either the CSA or the solicitors involved. You have tried the amicable way, but you need to know that he will stick to your agreement.

Janh · 03/06/2004 11:44

Maybe you should contact them again anyway? Surely they should have at least have acknowledged your application - maybe they didn't get it? (Have to admit I don't have a clue how it works - am assuming you posted something?)

Janh · 03/06/2004 11:47

CSA website - it has a calculator to see how much you should get - HTH!

tammybear · 03/06/2004 11:47

Yeah I applied for it when I applied for income support but that was back in August, and havent heard from them at all. I may try them again

The cheeky beggar! How far does he think £10 a week is going to go???

eddm · 03/06/2004 12:07

Tammybear, unless he's also on benefits, I don't see why he thinks £25/week is enough, let alone £10. He'd be spending a great deal more than that if you all lived together. See a solicitor and contact the CSA, this isn't fair on your dd.

tammybear · 03/06/2004 12:13

he isnt on benefits, he works, and lives with his parents so he's not paying for bills or rent etc. i just rang him up, screamed down the fone at him and told him im going to csa. before he moved back in with his parents, he was told by csa that he was suppose to be giving me £33 a week but he never changed it. he just text me and said he'd send me a cheque for whatever payments he's missed, but that's not the point!!! grrr, he makes me so mad!!! god knows what i ever saw in him in the first place!!!!

the last time I went to citizens advice they told me to inform everyone of the maintenance that exp was giving me, just in case it would affect anything, which I did, but it hasnt affected anything. It's so confusing. I feel like just saying to him to stuff his money, because he just gives me such a headache!

i am thinking of ringing csa up, cos i can do without the extra stress at the moment. plus i am currently looking to get back into work, so if i did, would that affect whatever he is suppose to be paying me?
