this

for my bathroom. Only just re-discovered it (was having it done at teh time) but our toothbrushes dont fit it although I think I may have realised this back then.

Its still in its box but box is a little battered. Im sure they've told me before there is no timescale for returning but obviously this is taking the piss. Does anyone know their policy?

I took a jumper back to River Island once - it was over a year old, I'd worn and washed it about four times. I didn't have a receipt.

Got my money back - cash.

Give it a go, I say!

£79? for a toothbrush holder??? - give it a go, can think of plenty of things to do with the money

If they won't take it back sell it on ebay.

jampot · 21/01/2007 23:53

ill be perfectly honest now - Im sure i bought it from there but would hate to put hand on heart

id be happy with a credit note for half that to be honest - its amazing what Ive found in cupboards and in the loft just being "stored"

If they still sell it they'll probably take it back. I took a sewing maching back after a year (realised i'd not taken it out of the box so was prob never going to use it . And they took it back with no problems and refunded me. Love John Lewis.

i think i may wimp out a bit and phone their customer service in the morning first. Then armed with acceptance I can go in and be politely confident

well done! Spend it wisely

My parents took their washing dryer thingy (sorry wind chill in my brain atm) back to Argos after 3 years as the wires got all twisted in the wind.

They exchanged it for a new one.

belgo · 22/01/2007 11:13

Could you not just have bought toothbrushes that fit in it? Or have you got chrome plated toothbrushes as well?

jampot · 22/01/2007 11:23

the only ones that would fit it are the little cheap crap ones - not a good sturdy Oral B supergrip one

So if I took back curtains that I bought from John Lewis about a year ago and are still in their wrapping, maybe I could get the money back? That would be good.

jampot · 22/01/2007 12:34

yes i think so if they still sell them

If I'd paid £79 for a toothbrush holder I'd have it on the mantelpiece!

Worth asking, if they say no, you've got a new pencil holder!
