I saw the catalogue and was, quite frankly, disgusted by the pictures.

Have this been done before?

misdee · 20/01/2007 20:57

just discussed this with dh and he says it should be reported. but who to?

that dress one is gross.

MascaraOHara · 20/01/2007 20:57

The on all fours dress one?

The slogan in the catalogue is "A lady should never be kept waiting and.. " hang on I'll go and get the catalogue. I was so disturbed I asked my freidn if I could keep the catalogue.

Absolutely revolting.
There is no way I will be buying anything from them and there is no WAY I would have let my daughter be photographed in such a suggestive way.

MascaraOHara · 20/01/2007 20:59

So the dress slogan word for word is...

"A gentleman should never keep a lady waiting, and a true lady should act like one"

What can you say?!?

OP posts:
misdee · 20/01/2007 20:59

if dd3 ever got a casting for this company i would be saying NO! right away.

but the clothes are from prtugal, could be the mdels are from there also, so no chance of getting casting.

danceswithnewboots · 20/01/2007 21:00

I agree with your dh misdee, I feel the same but again, WHO could you report it to? It's in VERY poor taste but you can't actually see anything you shouldn't. Could we start a mumsnet petition? Get it into the national press...I suppose that just gets them publicity though.

foxinsocks · 20/01/2007 21:01

I wonder if it is someone like the Advertising Authority...hang on, I'll have a look

Budababe · 20/01/2007 21:02

bobsmum · 20/01/2007 21:02

Good grief that is really depressing. I've always hankered after a "minx" t shirt for dd, but not with that photo shoot. V seedy. Why are the boys made up?

ASA online complaints form

think the focus is the website and brochure are advertising the products. The photography borders on pornographic and are disturbing

bobsmum · 20/01/2007 21:16

Cod - the potential deeeeath trap woman. Lynn Faulds Wood.

Or Esther Rantzen - she'd be good with this sort of thing.

Right I've complained as follows to the ASA

"The photography and styling used to promote this range of children's clothing is borderline pornographic particularly in conjunction with the copy used in the brochure.

For example, please refer to website www.noaddedsugar.co.uk/

the image under dresses where the child is spread-eagled on the back seat and over-made up is used with the brochure line "Not to be violated, seat belts included"

and under cardi, that image of a young girl on all-fours with her dress hitched up is used in the brochure with the strapline "A gentleman should never keep a lady waiting, and a true lady should act like one"

I find the advertising and imagery to have gone well beyond impactful and into paedophiliac soft-porn. "

lets see shall we
