What do I need to do to start a toddler music group?

Have recently moved from London and there is a distinct lack of free or cheap 'rhymetime' type classes where I now live (there used to be loads of them where I used to live). I don't want to have to commit to a weekly session and pay for the lot in advance so am wondering if I should start one myself. How would I go about this? DO I need police checks etc? Anyone done something similar and was it worth it?

What about some of them that are franchises like Joe Jingles. They would help you get started.

I had thought about that but someone mentioned to me that Caterpillar Music charges 7 GRAND!!! I was thinking of beign a bit more independent then that.

Police checks might not be so bad. You also need to get props and lesson plans.

Where are you living now? A big city or a small village.

A friend of mine tried to start up a group independently a few years sgo but in the end just couldn't compete with the larger franchises.

If I were you, I would be asking why there aren't any groups where you live. Could it just be lack of demand?
