Which charities or similar would take a very good used television?

We've just got a new flat screen tv so are looking to get rid of our 6 yr old 23inch CRT tv as it's really bulky. They fetch nuppence on ebay so it's not worth that bother, but I'm having problems giving it away! I'd rather it went to a 'deserving cause'. I tried Great Ormond St hospital but they don't take electrical stuff.
Any ideas?

If a charity doesn't want it you could Freecycle it.

Do you have a St Vincent De paul?

2shoes, where would the homeless put a telly?

Joke by the way, not being flippant

Afraid most people won't take electrical stuff as they would need to have it checked for safety and it is not worth their while. Your best bt is to stick it on your local freecycle, not charity but most likely to get picked up by someone setting up home or something!

2nd hand electrical goods can't be sold in charity shops, so best offer it to a refuge or homeless night shelter. There's a charity called 'DENS' in Hemel Hempstaed that operates an emergency night shelter.

Thanks everyone.
What's a St Vincent de Paul? I vaguely remember it from my convent school days - are they old people's homes?
