Hmm, I have a mountain buggy terrain and I found it very good at going over lumps and bumps, but I think there must be lighter weight options for jogging if you have access to a fairly level path/road. (Perhaps my other problem is that DH fitted the off road wheels when we got it and we never got round to changing them?).

On the plus side the MB has accompanied us on surfing trips and is great over pebbles and sand and is also brilliant on snow and can carry a snowboard.

I think that as long as you have a good buggy you can start whenever you want, although from your point of view I have read that it is best to start 'impact' exercise such as running after 4 months.

Would be interested to hear what other people have to say about this.

I got a Baby Jogger when my DS was little (couldn't use it until he was 3 months)It was fantastic. He is now 7 and we have used it for my DD as well. It has 3 big wheels, and goes really fast on roads/paths.
Brilliant too over rough terain, stones, beach, fields etc.
I never had any trouble with it, apart from a few punctures.
If you're serious about jogging/running i would definatley reccomend it.

I use a CTS ( child transport system) Chariot. Its also our bike trailer - remove front wheel and replace with tow bar. Front wheel is 16 inch, rear pair are a whooping 20 inch so its fab on or off road. Boy has been in it regulary from 6 months, but he was a very strong sitter and is bull necked, so not all babes will do so well so early as it doesn't recline at all, but the seat back is mesh and conforms to the childs shape.
Not cheap if you buy new, but they do come up 2nd hand and if your cyclists as well as runners you'll get loads of use out of it.
I think I've already saved the cost of ours ( 2nd hand) in saved bus fares over 4 months.
