BROADBAND - HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY?

Am just wondering if our broadband supplier (Telewest blueyonder) is competitively priced. Who do you use, how fast is it, do you get unlimited access and what does it cost?

Thanks!

I use NTL, and mine's £17.99 a month and is 150 kbps if that means anything to you! I think its pretty fast

spacemonkey · 25/05/2004 10:25

I'm on NTL and it's £35 a month for 1Mb

Soulfly · 25/05/2004 10:42

I have got the same as spacemonkey from ntl. Its alot quicker than dial up, espcially downloading tihngs with pics.

littlerach · 25/05/2004 10:42

We use Telewest and find them great. In fact, we just had a letter saying that the access will be even quicker soon,at no price increase.

We signed up to 256 for £17.99 with Telewest and we also got a letter in the last week upgrading us to 512.

I am on tiscali 15.99 a month unlimited and free modem which came in the post in 48 hrs.Very efficient no probs so far

We're on tiscali as well, paying £24.00 amonth for 512k unlimited access. (£15.99 is for 150k). Good service and free modem. Not had any problems with them - but dh is one that that deals with (and hogs) the home pc.

My db says that metronet has a great deal - £10.99 for 512k, for up to 10Mb download. For greater than that you pay extra - but capped at (I think) £21.99. You do have to pay for the modem though.

JanZ · 25/05/2004 11:00

Oops - meant £24.99/month

bbensley · 25/05/2004 11:04

I'm on ntl 24.99 a month and its plenty. Tried 1meg line but made no difference. Hubby plays his online games while i surf with no lag at all

Janh · 25/05/2004 12:07

We have AOL broadband (512kbps), unlimited access, has just dropped from £27.99 to £24.99 and everything provided free (modem, BT connection, 3 of those little dangly things you have to plug into phone sockets ). (Forget what they're called, obv!)

Charge for 1MB has also just dropped - was £34.99, now £29.99.

("BT line required. Some broadband products are also available to members living in an ntl broadband-enabled area." )

We have NTL broadband which is £17.99 a month and it's a shared connection between me and dh. Neither of us notices a reduce in performance when the other is one. We're hoping to hook up Ds1's pc to the internet shortly as well and then there will be three of us sharing. Don't tell NTL!

littlemissbossy · 25/05/2004 12:17

We're with Pipex for £33.99 a month

thanks chapesses
