Can anyone give me tips for cleaning bathroom tiles. Should I just use bathroom cleaner or has anyone found a better way? Thanks ( in advance)

Great minds... i've just posted a similar question and then discovered your thread. Are you talking about normal size tiles?

do they get wet a lot (i.e the ones near the bath tub)? For the tiles in the bathroom (most of them really, which don't get wet) i often use glass cleaner just to get rid of dust and make them shiny, the ones that get wet are a pain in the a...

Something like Viacal spray will help with the limescale on "get wet" tiles.

Branster, They are the rectangular marble type tiles. Does that make it harder to clean?

A cleaner . Plenty of threads about it too!

i find the bigger the tiles, the easier they are to clean. i'm still not clear if they are ceramic tiles with a marble effect on them or they are made of real marble. first case is exactly what we have in the main bathroom and i clean all of them (they're on all the walls up to the ceiling) probably 4 times a year, and depending on how dusty they got i use a wat cloth with warm water and fairy liquid, then a glass spray and polish /dry off with kitchen paper towels. the weekly clean happens only around the bath tub, near the sink and toilet, and i use a regular bath cleaner (Mrmuscle at present), rub the dirt/ water marks with a damp cloth, rinse and dry with kitchen towels. it doesn't take more than 5 min.
as for real marble, my mum had those at some point in her kitchen , can't remember what she used to do but she sisn't use many chemicals. i do remember she used to polish them a few times a year after washing them, and drying, with some sort of shammy leather thing. bloody hard work i used to think and there were lots of those tiles. forgot al about that. is this any help??!

Piffleoffagus · 25/05/2004 20:55

A vileda mop bathroom power or mildew remover if it ever gets that far...
bathroom power is good as it is all plant extracts

babywipes clean a plethora of uses !! I admit to regularly wiping the outside of my stainless steel microwave with them and they leave no streaks!!!

kalex · 25/05/2004 22:54

I use babywipes on everything. Tlies, laminate Floor.

Wasted on baby bots IMO. OK so i still but them and both kids are out nappies
