I know I asked a while ago, but that was about UK generally, not just london.

Now have to organise a wedding before I am too big to fit into a dress!!

Recommendations please for reception venues in London.

Our church is in the City, but it doesn't have to be right next to that.

We want somewhere we can have a sit down meal for 30 and then 60 in the evening for dancing.

here it is crap website and no decent pictures

They charge £1300 for exclusive use of dining room on a Saturday but that is minimum spend, so included in that would be cost of food/drink

MrsBadger · 03/01/2007 17:45

or the Court Room of Painter's Hall, round the corner can do dinner for 60 and has a parquet floor for dancing...
or Balls Bros have a less elaborate function room, and Old Billingsgate have such a small webshow thingy I can't read the words, but it does look impressive.

this was very interesting...

OK, thanks again. Mrs badger, I can't belive all the connections with our city center church.

I may have passed you and Jura in the aisles.

Jura, thanks for the hint about people hiring it.

We do need a choir, how much do you charge.

The guild halls are all lovely but seem to be very expensive. restaurants and pubs do seem like a really good idea as you have a minimum spend but that goes towards the cost of the food.

I am waiting for details from Samuel pepys countessdracula.

and HMS president blu.

We are working our way through the rest of them, many, many thanks.

I have also contacted

arggg! contacted five places, non of which have sent the information requested.

This is really frustrating.

CountessDracula. contacted the samuel Pepys but unfortunatly they don't allow dancing as in a residential building.

Am still chasing the rest up, any other suggestions?

How are you getting on with this Angua?

Wheelybug · 15/01/2007 15:03

my db had his reception at the menier chocolate factory in Southwark. They had dinner in the basement which was very atmospheric with dancing upstairs on the ground floor. They had about 100 but you could probably just have one of the spaces. It wasn't expensive as they did it all on quite a tight budget.
